ENDEARING

I was surprised to find a tongue sticking out at my camera instead of a smile when I reviewed this shot.
Since I don't see him often enough and he's all of two years old I found it endearing.  Once.

The haziness is a result of a quick two year old and not enough adjustment time between air conditioned truck and 95 degree air temp.

CASUAL

They take a casual approach to sales around here.  This sort of roadside produce selling is common.

Apex Furniture Manufacturing Building.  In a previous life the building was an icehouse for Christian Morlein Brewery.

THROUGH A WINDOW

You might guess this to be the front window of a tattoo artist.  It's actually home base for an edgy downtown resale shop.

TEAM

It takes a well managed team to work the downtown equine police beat.

And the backside view simply means that sometimes I'm more of a follower than a leader.

CHILDHOOD

RULE OF THIRDS

One third corn, one third clear sky on the horizon, one third incoming storm clouds. With a little sunset thrown in for good measure.

AND THE SIGN SAYS...

Having a film crew, complete with real stars, in town to shoot movie scenes was a big deal in tiny town. They booked up the hotel and dined at local fine dining establishments.
I'm still waiting for Captain America or Iron Man to whisk me away.

Love it when a box turtle show up out back.

FAMILY

The swans have cygnets this year. They've never yet managed to raise a family to adulthood and one baby has already been lost this year. Hopefully the remaining two will survive.

THE LETTER E...

is for euphemism. (with a nod toward Dr. Seuss for the loan of this particular usage.)

SEASIDE

This is as close to seaside as I think he'll be getting this summer.  Practicing his fish netting skills at the lake.

THE LETTER W...

is for worm. I like that he isn't squeamish about holding them or feeding them to the fish in the lake. His mother and aunts weren't so worm friendly at his age.

HEARTWARMING

I remember his mom riding her own red trike and it's heartwarming to see them ride up the sidewalk together now.

RETRO

Love his retro red Radio Flyer trike.  Metal, not plastic, and totally kid powered.  Except for those times he can get someone to push.

BROKEN

He was sitting on the center line, broken from being hit by a passing car, but still gamely trudging across.

UNDER WATER

With last night's "And the Sign says" as introduction, yes, the roadway is under water. I'll go out of my way to drive on a road like this one.
