ARCHITECTURE

The design of the Islamic Center of Toledo caught my eye on a recent trip through northern Ohio.

That's a great dome, and the stained glass windows look nice. Is there a big Muslim population in Toledo?

Beautifully composed--and exotic. One would think that this was taken in the Middle East. (BTW, we haave a mosque in our small town--but it's nowhere as dramativ as this one.)

There's a lot of symmetry about this too.

That would have caught my eye too! Domes are such an appealing architectural feature and the addition of the minarets frame this one so nicely.

Now that is one beautiful structure...that gold dome really makes it stand out!

Vry regal looking. The golden roof is pretty against the pale blue sky.

Almost a fantasy component to this. I am a fan of the gold dome look, but can't recall how often it is paired with the narrow towers, like this here. The faint blue in the sky was nice to get as it set the building off better.
