MORNING ROUTINE

Wake up. Maybe in the shelter, maybe on the street. Put your blanket in your cart because blankets are gold out here. Out of the shelter by 7 am, that's the rule. Off the park bench by daybreak cause the city government doesn't want you to be too visibly homeless; it scares the suburbanites who flock to the market on weekend mornings. Find something to eat.  Morning routine in Over the Rhine.

Love the distance to ensure his annonimity, so sad and thought provoking a post you need to be congratulated. Life just don'r seem BLOODY fair. Hope you paid him a few bucks model fee to help with the food (or whatever)

there are similar routines near me (and I'm sure in many, many places). So many people these days just living one small incident or disaster away from a similar state. I like the way you covered this theme.

Thank you for this most compassionate photo and the non-judgmental commentary that goes along with it.

Sad... Those brightly-painted buildings on the side seem almost out of place against the backdrop of your commentary.

Very thought provoking Lorri, and sympathetically worded.

What a great, gritty and accurate urban portrayal, Lorri. We have a lot of problems to work out, or ignore, here in the USA.
